What is Pride Week?
There are various Queer-related activities, discounts, offers and experiences all week, Monday-Friday (21/9-25/9), until Pride. Woohoo!

We contact various local actors and inform them about when the week before Pride is, they plan, arrange and hold their own queer events around the whole city, and if we’re lucky maybe even the county!

How does it work for guests?
Later this summer, we will publish a Pride Week Map with associated programs on this website as well as all our different platforms. You will be able to plan your Pride Week using the program and find where you are going using the Pride Week map. So remember to keep an eye out for Pride Week both on our social media and perhaps also in your favorite shop/café or similar. Come and celebrate Uppsala Pride for a whole week!

Why Pride Week?
We obviously want more Pride! This gives more visitors the opportunity to participate in various Queer activities at various locations around Uppsala and the surrounding area. We think this is both important and fun!

How do we make sure we don’t get Pink Washed?
We at RFSL Uppsala only invite carefully selected shops, restaurants, organizations and the like that we have a long history with in the form of various collaborations and/or have checked up before we invited them to Pride Week.

As usual, we celebrate Uppsala Pride with Pride House and as usual it is together with our incredibly loyal friends at UKK (Uppsala Konsert & Kongress) who year after year sponsor Uppsala Pride by letting us stay in their amazing and spacious building. They’re back, yaaay!!! Here you can try on different garments and take them home completely free of charge, thanks to Queer Aid’s continued hard work.

This is our new addition to Uppsala Pride 2026 so remember to go to the top floor, check out the selection, maybe buy something nice and unique to support the exhibitors/vendors there!

If you find yourself on this level again this year, maybe you would like to borrow a book during the day to sit, read and enjoy the view? If so, we recommend a visit to the library bike. Just remember to return the book before you go home!😉

Here you can check out all the different activities/groups that RFSL Uppsala offers. Get free condoms! (16+) And while you’re there, take the opportunity to become a member of RFSL Uppsala. Then you support our continued work for equal rights for Queer people in society.

*THE STAGE (separate program).

Here there will be all sorts of different program items throughout Pride, from when we open the doors, to when we close them at 3:00 AM.

In the evening, the entire Hall D is transformed into a DRAG SHOW followed by the AFTER PARTY!!!

Please note that from 8:00 PM, admission to Pride House requires a ticket (18+). Ticket sales will open at a later date.

OVERSTIMULATED?

Easily happens when there are big crowds and high volume. If you’re feeling overwhelmed you can go to Floor 7. You can only get here by elevator, but don’t worry, there will be a volunteer stationed at the elevator who can help you get there.

On floor 7 we have our “CHILL OUT ROOM”. A room that will have slightly darker lighting, cozy seating, a bit calmer and quieter for those who need it. If you feel overstimulated, you can go here to recharge your batteries. In the Chill Out Room we avoid all forms of running and loud noises as this is primarily for those who want and need to take it easy. We ask all guests to please talk in a quiet tone in this area to respect each other’s different needs and boundaries. If you want to talk a little more freely, you can do so in many other places around the building.

ACCESSIBILITY:

We at RFSL Uppsala work to make it as inviting and accessible as many people as possible to visit our event. There are 1 wheelchair toilets on each floor, you can easily get between floors with the elevator.

UKK has 2 entrances.

There is a ramp up to the entrance on the city side and on side facing Vaksala Torg, it is located at ground level.

Available for purchase throughout Pride House in UKK’s own restaurant, which you can find on Level 2 (entrance level)

You are NOT allowed to bring lunch boxes or opened packages of food, fruit, snacks or loose sweets with you.

Only STORE-SEALED, UNBROKEN PACKAGES may be brought into UKK, opened inside and then consumed.

Uppsala Pride goes hand in hand with the Pride Parade! And of course it is coming back!

We walk, march, dance, jump, roll and demonstrate to create visibility for all those who have always wanted to be seen and take up space, for those who cannot be there for various reasons and for all those who are not allowed to be there. We parade for the freedom we have, we demonstrate for the rights we demand and we walk for those who are no longer with us.

This year too we will walk around central Uppsala and we hope to break a new participant record, as our previous record stands at approx. 3500 people(2024). So please come to the central city to wave the flag, cheer, applaud and stand up for Queer rights. Everywhere.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

FOR WHO?

Private individuals are warmly welcome to follow the parade, completely free of charge and without prior registration, you’re allowed to join at any time, along the entire route. No age limit. Note! The parade should not exceed 4 people beside each other at one time for safety reasons.

Organizations/Companies

Organizations and companies must pre-register with us and have received an email where they are approved, as well as containing their start number. Please register by writing to the email address parad@uppsala.rfsl.se

NOT welcome

Since we from RFSL Uppsala/Uppsala Pride are the organizers of this event, we reserve the right to refuse ALL political parties. All people from these are welcome as private individuals. HOWEVER, we do not want to see clothing, bags, purses, flags or the like with logos, slogans or other symbols that refer to said political parties in the parade. This is our policy and something that we ask everyone to respect. If this is to be violated, you will be immediately asked to leave the parade, this is something that the police are informed about.

EXCEPTIONS

Uppsala Pride has a proud history of being completely free from commercial actors in the parade. However, due to the current economic situation, we have unfortunately had to reconsider. Our goal is that this will be temporary and only apply for this year. We ask for your understanding of this.

We strive for the companies that can get a place in the parade to be; 1. Local, 2. Small, 3. Take a clear stand for Queer rights and actively work to promote Queer rights both within the company’s own workforce and in dealing with guests/customers. We will ask all actors to send us proof of the above conditions.

REMEMBER

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

Keep an eye on the weather before heading to Pride. You may need to bring sunscreen, an umbrella, warm clothes and/or cooler clothes.

WATER BOTTLE

Make sure to drink plenty of water!

ALCOHOL BAN

This applies throughout the parade. That is, during the gathering for the parade, during the parade and at the finish line of the parade.

COMFORTABLE SHOES (or a change of shoes)

TAKE CARE OF EACH OTHER IN THE PARADE and PLEASE CONTRIBUTE TO THE ATMOSPHERE

If everyone helps, there will be a good atmosphere in the parade. Feel free to wear makeup and dress in all the colors of the rainbow, feel free to wear glitter, ruffles, lace, queer flags, as well as handheld bubble machines, etc. You can dress lightly, but we ask you to remember that there are children in the parade.

MUSIC

Every year we work to make sure there is more music and life in the parade. We encourage you to bring your own speakers with music. Unfortunately, we have not received permission for more than 2 music cars in the parade and these will be arranged by us.

NOT APPROVED VEHICLES

Vehicles with engine, Horse and carriage, electric bicycle, electric scooter and bicycles. (Exceptions can be made for box bicycles but always report this before the parade to parad@uppsala.rfsl.se Deadline: 1 September)

TIPS

How to bring some music into the parade.

Speakers with wheels are available for purchase in different price ranges.

Take an old backpack, cut out the front of it and carry the speaker in it (remember earplugs for the person carrying it!)

Wheelbarrow to roll a speaker on.

Box bicycles are available for rent from several rental places. Remember to report this to us otherwise you may have to turn around in place/stay at the start/lead the vehicle through the parade.

IN CASE OF COUNTERPRESSURE/DEMONSTRATION: Remember that we live in an democracy here in Sweden and that people are allowed to think differently than us and our values. That is, people are allowed to make counter-demonstrations on the side of the parade which can be provocative. We understand and agree with you in your frustration but we ask for the safety of the entire parade to ignore these individuals and provocations and absolutely NOT touch them. However, we encourage even louder cheers, whistles, applause and shouts (not threats/hate). Together we can drown out the sound of hatred.

HAVE FUN!

This year the big event will be the Drag Show! We hope to see a wonderful mix of Drag Kings & Queens on stage, in different acts that you don’t want to miss!

Times: Pride House closes at 19:00. At 20:00 UKK will open it’s doors again for the Afterparty which will be held in Hall D! We will stick to floor 2, the other floors will be closed off for the rest of the evening. Please note that from 20:00-03:00 admission is only valid with a pre-purchased ticket and an age limit (18+).

WHY PAID?

Keep in mind that the price of the ticket goes to the Drag Artists themselves, so we hope you feel that it is absolutely worth paying the amount to support new and established local drag artists.

THEY SHOULD & WILL GET PAID

The performers are artists who share their knowledge. They buy materials, sew their clothes, make their own props, style their wigs, come up with acts, practice said acts, mix music, visuals and so much more! So there is literally blood, sweat and probably a lot of tears behind the glitter that we get to see. So let’s support the local talents so that Drag culture can be kept alive in Uppsala in the future!

DRINKS

UKK will open several bars with everything from beer to wine to Pride drinks with lovely decorations in the glasses.

TOILET

Visitors can now use the toilets downstairs.

Accessible toilets are on the same floor.

Social media

Are you a fan of editing videos, images and syncing it with sound and text? Do you like being in front of the camera and are comfortable conducting interviews? The planning for Uppsala Pride is in full swing and we are now looking for YOU who can help with editing our posts that we post on social media and YOU who can imagine yourself broadcasting live on our Instagram during Pride. These tasks do not necessarily have to be performed by the same person. Register here!

Afterparty (18+)

If you enjoy party environments, staying up late, and making sure everyone’s happy – this could be the perfect task for you! For the Uppsala Pride Afterparty, we’re searching for volunteers who can be the trusted adults for our guests at the party. You will be the vessel between the guests and the guards, reporting anything you see that’s troublesome, and/or supporting anyone who needs help. Tasks are assigned based on wishes and ability, and you will be working alongside a team. Having a driver’s license and access to a car would be beneficial. Register here!

Dragshow

For the Dragshow in the evening, we need volunteers who will help with various tasks, such as running the make up table for visitors (you’ll get training), preparing and leading the artists to the stage, and help with closing and cleaning after the show. Tasks are assigned based on wishes and ability, and you will be working alongside a team. Register here!

Artist Alley och Infobord

Uppsala Pride House 2026 opens its doors to the general public at 11:00 on Saturday, offering an abundance of activites to take part of. Between 11:00 – 14:00 various organizations will have infotables. There will also be a section called Artist Alley, where young local artists in the LGBTQ+ community promote and sell their artwork. We will need volunteers who can be there for the infotables and the Artist Alley to make sure they have everything they need, and that everything is in its order. Tasks are assigned based on wishes and ability, and you will be working alongside a team. Register here!

Parade guard (18+)

We are looking for people who’d like to help out making this year’s Uppsala Pride Parade as fun and safe as possible. As a parade guard working alongside the parade, you will be a part of a team making sure that the parade keeps its route and width during its route. Tasks are assigned based on wishes and ability, and you will be working alongside a team. Register here!

Trafic marshall/guard (18+)

We are looking for people who’d like to help out making this year’s Uppsala Pride Parade as fun and safe as possible. As a traffic marshall/parade guard you will be a part of a team standing at intersections along the parade route and making sure that the parade has a free way to go. Tasks are assigned based on wishes and ability, and you will be working alongside a team. Register here!

Decorator

The decoration team will make the venue for Uppsala Pride House 2026 look as colorful, gorgeous, and gay as possible. This involves putting up flags, pumping balloons, creating signs, and much more. Starting in the evening on Friday 25th, and continuing on Saturday morning. Tasks are assigned based on wishes and ability, and you will be working alongside a team. Register here!
